I HAVE RECEIVED a letter from a devotee of "Pat" Robertson who asks me to support that champion hokum-huckster for the Presidency. He sends, together with citations of Holy Writ, a revelation worthy of Robertson, although not attributed to him: "The Latin language is the Satanic language, deriving from the Devil's Triangle off the coast of Bermuda, where is the Tower of Babel, the tower minted [!] on the back of the dollar bill." Philologists can only be grateful for what they learn from so concise a specimen of pious thought.
